No More Braces!!!

Well, it finally happened. On January 31, 2012, after 23 months of wearing them, I got my braces off!!! It was one of the most exciting days ever! If you've never had to wear braces, you might not understand, but for the people who have worn them, you know the awesome feeling of having your teeth back to normal again. For the first few days after I got them off, I kept running my tongue over my teeth again and again, just to feel how smooth my teeth were without the brackets. That was a cool feeling! The first thing I ate after I got my braces off was GUM! I love gum, but I haven't had any for almost two years, so that was a real treat! My mom got me a chocolate shake at Starbucks! Yum! Then, we went to the store and got stuff to make caramel apples and we also got a cookie to celebrate. It was a wonderful day and I know I'll remember it forever.

A week after I got my braces off, I got a retainer. It's blue (my favorite color) with flowers on it, and the flowers glow in the dark! =) I love that! Anyway, here's some pictures of my flower retainer.

  4. Chewing gum is good for exercising the facial muscles, Michelle, but that's not all. There are chewing gums that are sugar free and have xylitol in it. These chewing gums are good for the teeth because xylitol is known to inhibit bacterial growth and thereby reducing the chances of cavities. You should try them sometime. You'll like it.
